Rochester: October 22, 2012 at age 55 after a 6 year brave fight with Ovarian Cancer. She is predeceased by her parents, Eleanor and Richard Heckman and husband, Martin VanGrol. Survived by her loving companion, Dennis DiRenzi; son, Cyad Heckman (Beth Abbey) and step-son, Tom DiRenzi; grandchildren, Cyad Heckman, Kain Heckman, Brody Heckman and Maximus Heckman; sister, Janice (Erich) Ruppert; brothers, Richard (Lisa) Heckman, Thomas (Michelle) Heckman; aunt, Janet (Robert) Tiefert; nieces and nephews, John LaFleche, Richard III, Thomas II, Melissa Heckman, Joshua Sassone, Erich Ruppert, Jr., Raymond Spall and Rene Daugherty; special friends, Sandy Smith, Sandra and Dan Minchen and her dog, Cody.
Friends and family may call Friday, October 26, 2012 4-8 PM at New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 27th at 10 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions will be made to Cancer Research.
