Walter Joseph Griffin
January 9, 1952 — December 11, 2012
Passed peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at age 60 with his family at his side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Walter is predeceased by his mother Bernice Terry, grandparents Zenamae Rawls and Marion O. Griffin; and brother Michael Terry.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Michelle Griffin; three daughters, LaKisha Moore (Dwayne) of New Jersey, Temeka Reynolds and Diamond Henry; four sisters, Cheryl (Gary) Allen of Baltimore, MD, Karen, Debbie, and Sandra Terry all of New Jersey; brother James Griffin; mother-n-law Hattie Jordan; father-n-law John (Betty) Reynolds; grandmother-n-law Julia Bailey; sisters-n-law, Aleisa (Chris) James and Rhonda Jones; aunts, Carol (Michael) Griffin,Evelyn and Cleo Smith; uncles, Pete (Gloria)and Harry Griffin; one grandson Dwayne Clyburn and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is also leaving behind his devoted best friend Tony Callender and Lucinda Barnes. Other friends, Rashim Peterson, Emmett Boyd, Harry Wilson,Robert Works, Sam Mitchell, Eddie Dailey and Gene Owens.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lifetime Care Hospice Staff and to Dr. Roxana Vlad and her Oncology Team for their care, love and support during Walter's illness.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation for all acts of kindeness that was extended to us during this time.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 20 from 4-8 Pm at Central Church of Christ, 101 South Plymouth Avenue, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11AM. Interment, Falls Cemetery.
