Wayne E. Barry

December 7, 1934 — September 8, 2015

Wayne E. Barry of Edenton, North Carolina (formerly of Rochester, New York), passed away on September 8, 2015 at the age of 80 after a long illness.

He is predeceased by his infant daughter, Gloria Ann, and his 3 brothers and 6 sisters.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Norma; 2 brothers (Charles and Thomas); 6 children: Stephen (Christine), David (Cheryl), Diane Heed (Doug), Karen (Steve), Brenda (Steve), and Dennis (Tami); 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran and served many years in the Reserves. His hobbies included bowling, baking, spoiling his grandchildren, and he was an avid collector of cars and lawnmowers (because he was always taking parts from one to put into another).

Wayne was born in Macedon, New York and raised in Rochester, New York. Wayne and Norma were married in 1959 and raised their family in the same home he grew up in. In 1985 they moved to Sodus, New York to run the bar/restaurant they purchased. They ran Barry's Centenary Inn until they moved to Edenton, North Carolina in 1997 where they have lived since.

Calling hours are Wednesday, 9/16, 5:00-8:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home at 2636 Ridgeway Avenue.
