Greece: Passed Thursday, February 17, 2011 at age 93. Predeceased by her husband of 31 years, Ralph E. Bohrer; grandson, Shaun M. Bohrer; sister, Anne V. McKinney; brothers, Peter, William, Henry, Gerard and Adrian VanderTang. She is survived by her son, Edward (Linda) Bohrer; daughter, Jane (Arthur) Rookey; grandsons, Michael (Christina Turner), Jonathan (Cathy), Alan (Amy) Rookey, Brian (Melissa) Bohrer; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Billie grew up in Spencerport, NY and was employed by the Eastman Kodak Co. for many years. She was also an accomplished Organist at the Ogden Presbyterian Church for 8 years and a member of the Lake Ave. Baptist Church for over 60 years.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the New Comer Funeral Home, 2636 Ridgeway Ave. Interment at the convenience of the family. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 2 PM at Asbury First United Methodist Church, 1050 East Ave. Memorial contributions may be directed to The Shaun Bohrer Scholarship Fund, Trinity Episcopal Church of Greece, NY , the LABC Memorial Fund, Rochester, NY or to Lifetime Care Hospice of Rochester, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623.
