William Edward Robenolt, a beloved member of the family and a gentle soul, passed away peacefully at age 78 on July 28, 2025, at home with his sister. Born on September 4, 1946, in Waterloo, New York, William lived a life filled with love for his family and a deep devotion to the Lord.
William attended Mynderse Academy in his youth. He formally worked at the Seneca Knitting Mill located in Seneca Falls NY. He had fond memories of the years he lived in the town of Ovid where he enjoyed delivering the local Penny Saver and attending the Ovid Federation Church.
William was a proud Marine Corps veteran. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Canandaigua Veterans Administration for their kindness and care to William over the past 5 decades.
He was one of nine siblings and shared a special bond with each of them throughout his life. As a young man, William would often be found in a quiet space working on a car engine or a transistor radio. He had a passion for fixing things. He loved animals and had fond recollections of his time volunteering for the local dog shows. William was an avid reader. He enjoyed weekly Bingo games, art projects, and music. His easy-going personality and infectious spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him
He is survived by his loving siblings, sister Sherry Decker, brother and sister-in-law Michael (Rhonda), and sister Wendy Elliott. William leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, as well as other extended family members who held a special place in his heart.
He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Eloise Robenolt, his brother Kenneth Jr. and his wife Lois, along with his brothers Thomas, Timothy, Stanley, and Daniel, brother-in-law John Decker, and niece Rachel.
William's legacy of kindness and love will forever remain in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege to know him.
There will be a graveside service in Spring Brook Cemetery, 1900 Gravel Rd. Seneca Falls, NY 13148 at the convenience of the family.
A Celebration of Life will be held for William in Seneca Lake State Park at the Boathouse Pavilion #004 from 1pm to 5pm on Monday Sept 1st.
