In Loving Memory of YeVetta Deloris Lewis-Massey
March 12, 1957 – December 17, 2025
YeVetta Deloris Lewis-Massey, affectionately known to family and friends as "LOLO," passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025. Born on March 12, 1957, in Bainbridge, Georgia, YeVetta was a bright light who lived life with an infectious zest and a spirit that turned every room she entered into a "vibe."
YeVetta was a caregiver by nature, a quality that defined both her personal and professional life. Her career journey was a testament to her versatile spirit—from her early days in hospitality to her dedicated years in nursing. She ultimately found a calling in community service, retiring in 2023 from Charles Settlement House, where she worked tirelessly to uplift those around her.
Outside of work, YeVetta loved to travel. She saw the world as a place to explore and a way to connect, forging lifelong friendships in every destination she visited. Upon her retirement, she dedicated her days to what she loved most: her family.
YeVetta was predeceased by her parents, Herman Lee Sr. and Annie Pearl Lewis-Lee and her biological father Mead Lewis; her sisters, Annette and Arpie Lee; and her late husband, Odis Massey.
Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her special friend; Mr P.C., her children Katrina Lewis (Brooklyn Park, MN), Jefferey Lewis, and Kymberly Massey (Rochester, NY). Her six siblings who shared her journey. Her 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild and A host of cousins who were more like siblings, numerous nieces and nephews, and a community of "adopted" children she gathered through her lifetime of open doors and open hearts.
LOLO’s legacy is one of compassion, adventure, and an unwavering love for her community. She will be missed by a vast network of family and friends who were blessed enough to know her warmth.
Family will receive friends Friday, January 2nd, 2026, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 6 Empire Boulevard, from 3:00- 6:00PM. Interment will be private.
