Yvette Richard

August 17, 1930 — July 6, 2025

Rochester

Yvette Richard, born Labelle, a cherished matriarch whose love radiated through her family, passed away gently on July 6, 2025, at Hurlbut Nursing Home. She was born on August 17, 1930, in Gatineau, Quebec, Canada, where her life’s journey began—one filled with countless moments of warmth, joy, and devotion to her loved ones.

Yvette was a devout Catholic whose deep faith guided her throughout her life. She was dedicated to her church and found great comfort and strength in her beliefs. Yvette had a true passion for her flower garden, where she spent countless hours tending to her blooms with care and pride. She also loved the excitement of visiting the casino and cherished the time she spent with her friends playing bingo. Her warm spirit, love of life, and steadfast devotion will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Yvette was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who dedicated her life to nurturing those around her. She shared a remarkable partnership with her beloved husband, Emile, with whom she celebrated 75 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they created a home filled with laughter and support, a testament to their deep bond and unwavering commitment.

As a mother, Yvette embraced her roles with grace and compassion. She raised her three children, Jacques, John (Paulette), and Jocelyne, instilling in them the values of kindness, resilience, and family unity. Her influence can be seen in her grandchildren—Steven, Marc (Lesdy), Anthony, and Joelle DeVincentis—who carry her spirit forward in their own lives. Yvette was also proud to be a great-grandmother to Ian and Ari, cherishing every moment spent with her growing family.

Her siblings, Jeannine, Estelle, and Guy, were a vital part of her life, and she remained connected to them throughout her years. The bonds she shared with many nieces and nephews exemplified her loving nature and the extent of her family ties that extended far and wide.

Yvette’s parents, Paul Emile and Delphine Labelle, along with her dear daughter Joanne, watched over her as she transitioned peacefully from this life. Their spirits remain forever intertwined with hers, a gentle reminder of the love that continues on, undiminished by time or distance.

Her Funeral Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo at a later date. Please check back to this site for the date and time.

The memories of Yvette Richard will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and family will serve as a guiding light for generations to come. The world is a little dimmer without her, but her spirit shines brightly in the lives she touched.
